Free Bus Pass Scheme
Grove Academy Free Bus Pass
For the child to be eligible for a Grove Academy free bus pass, the child must attend Grove Academy and the home address of the parent/guardian, and the child must be beyond two miles from Grove Academy, Chalvey.
Pupils below Year 5 will need to be accompanied on buses by a sibling in Year 5 or above that is also attending Grove Academy or by an adult.
Accompanying adults are not eligible for free bus passes and will need to pay the normal adult fares or buy an adult bus pass from the relevant bus operator(s).
The objectives of issuing free bus passes to eligible pupils are to reduce the use of cars for school travel.
Benefits
The Grove Academy Free Bus Pass provides free travel on all local buses (except TfL route 81) within the Slough borough boundary for eligible students travelling to and from Grove Academy, Chalvey between 6am and 7pm on Monday to Friday during term time only.
Restrictions
The free bus pass scheme is only available to eligible students of Grove Academy. There is a fixed amount of funding available so we may issue the passes on a first-come, first-served basis. It is important that the bus passes are used frequently, and the council monitor their use. If a pass is not used at least once per week for a period of four weeks, the council may withdraw it from the student to allow another eligible student to receive one. We also expect all students to abide by our Student Travel Behaviour Code.
Eligible pupils living beyond the Slough borough boundary have free travel within the borough boundary only and need to have other travel arrangements or pay a separate bus fare for the party of their journey beyond the Slough borough boundary, which will not be paid for by the council.
