The Knife Angel is a towering 27ft sculpture specifically created to raise awareness about knife crime and educate about the negative and harmful impact of knife related crimes. Designed by artist Alfie Bradley and created from over 100'000 confiscated or amnesty knives, the Angel is a thought provoking memorial designed to reflect on the lives that have been lost through thoughtless and violent crimes.
The Knife Angel is currently resident at Arbour Park Stadium in Slough and a key feature of anti-violence education taking place in Slough, throughout the month of January. Grove Academy are participating in activities to educate by hosting workshops for all year groups discussing the reasons why young people might feel compelled to carry a knife and the risks of doing so. Workshops were delivered by the Safety Centre giving students an opportunity to role play, ask questions and write messages on brightly coloured tags to be hung at the site of the Exhibit.
